‘Punch It’ And Get Stronger Shots

POWER PUNCH: ‘KNOCK OUT’ TRAINING EXERCISES

big golf power 12Impact Bag:  Although it is called the Impact Bag, its placement should be approximately one foot from where you would have your ball positioned. I have placed imaginary ball in Photo 12 and the bag approximately 12 inches from that ball position, which places the Impact Bag approximately just outside the front foot.

Set-Up:  When you take your grip, take it with the club in an elevated vertical position.

Key Feel: Hips, Shift, Lead and Release

Once you have taken your grip and positioned the bag accordingly, you can get into your Golf Posture. Position the hands equal to where the ball would be with the shaft approximately parallel to the ground (Photo 13).  Next, rotate back with a little weight shift until the front arm is parallel to the ground with the end of the club pointing to the target line (Photo 14).  Now, rotate your hips, shift your weight and lead with your forward arm as you release your wrists into the bag.

YOUR GOAL:  Make contact with the bag and the side of your body simultaneously with the forward arm, hands and club forming a straight line (Photo 15).
