TOUR EDGE C722 IRONS

Tour Edge making plenty of tsunami-like waves

Tour Edge is making plenty of tsunami-like waves in the iron category, as evidenced by their C722’s – a player’s distance iron that is compact (thus the C in its name) and explosive at the same time, no mean feat. As with other sticks in this category, the C722 irons use hollow-body construction to gin up the ball speed and maximize face deflection.

Tour Edge has injected its patented VIBRCOR performance gel (or thermoplastic polyurethane) inside the head to “dampen sound and shock and to produce faster ball speed at impact.” Those features work in conjunction with Tour Edge’s proprietary, varying-thickness “Diamond Face” design that expands the sweet spot. The hollow face also promotes more perimeter weighting and a deeper center of gravity, which leads to more forgiveness than other irons in this category.

Shaft options are available in both True Temper steel and Fujikura graphite and are speed-tested to ensure the optimal custom shaft pairing for every flex – determined by robotic and player trials. For a club this forgiving and able to achieve higher ball speeds, the C722s still have a thinner topline and more compact shape that will suit the eye of better players. Available in 4-PW, with the former checking in at 21 degrees and the latter at 44. A great iron for those in search of enhanced performance in a cast face.
