Apparel 2018: Oxford Mens Sportswear

oxford mens sportswearAmong the many golf apparel companies out there, Oxford mens sportswear has found perhaps the perfect balance between classic styling and what they like to call “modern sophistication,” and the new Fall line for 2018 — from men’s shirts and slacks to women’s jacquard vests, even to footwear — is no exception, prompting the company to don the motto, “Make Today Lucky.”

Thanks to its rich history in golf and lifestyle apparel, Oxford finds itself uniquely positioned to deliver contemporary garb with cutting edge technologies to today’s evolving market. They employ premium performance technology in polos utilizing either drirelease or coolmax.

“Drirelease is actually a brand new fiber,” said one representative recently. “It’s eighty five percent polyester, but it’s polyester mixed with a natural fiber, so it has a push-pull effect — permanent performance that does not wash out. It wicks, it’s easy care, it’s moisture management, it keeps you cool or keeps you comfortable. And it’s natural to the touch. The hand-feel on this is amazing — it feels like cotton, but it’s 15 percent cotton. It performs amazing. You can wear this on the hottest day of the year and you’re completely comfortable.” New this season is the incorporation of drirelease in jacquard knits, as in the Myers Performance Polo. This polo features a tonal mini jacquard pattern with a self-collar offered in three color combinations.

The new Albright Performance Polo is a Coolmax/Spandex jersey stripe that has striking fall heather colors in the ground. The Winfall Polo features long sleeves and a full button front; it’s designed to move with you like a knit, but in a woven shirt styling. The Howell continues to be a big hit — easy care, comfort and moisture wicking make this the go-to shirt every day of the week. For the cooler days there are new fabrics offered in the Glenwood — textural herringbone plaids and brushed flannel.

The warm array of colors and fabrics continue through layered pieces like the Oakdale double knit quarter-zip pullover, the Ottley full-zip vest with heather knit collar and lots of pockets for storage, and the Brunswick hybrid jacket crafted from cotton twill with a water repellent finish.

The Woodruff 5-pocket stretch herringbone pant is available in five colors this season. The fabric has a subtle surface interest that is washed for a soft hand feel. Featuring a genuine leather patch, these pants are sure to be a favorite for this season.

On the footwear front there’s the Reid chukka boot, with a leather upper and sole and the Quincy penny loafer in two new colors. All Oxford shoes and boots crafted in Brazil.
