With more than 35 years of experience in golf instruction, Joe Thiel is a three-time PGA Teacher of the year and one of the only few golf professionals who has earned the PGA Master Professional designation. Joe developed and owns the PGA Golf and Learning Center in Olympia, Wash.
Karen can be seen frequently on The Golf Channel as a guest instructor. She is a certified Golf Psych Instructor with years of experience in professional golf instruction. Palacios now owns and directs Swing Blade Enterprises in Mooresville, N.C.
Marshall Smith has been teaching golf for more than half a century. His former students include Chi Chi Rodriguez, Gary Player, Craig Stadler and current PGA Tour player, Todd Fischer. Marshall is an instructor at Peoria Ridge Golf Club in Miami, Okla.
With more than 30 years of experience, Mel Sole has taught golf to students of all skill levels around the world in South Africa, Canada and the USA. Mel’s client roster includes professional athletes, CEOs of Fortune 500 Companies and many more. He now owns and teaches for the Ritson-Sole Golf Schools.
A native Californian raised in Paso Robles, attended San Jose State University on a golf scholarship, turned professional in 1977 becoming a PGA professional while working in the public sector. He became part of the team at The Newport Beach CC in 1989 and was named Head Professional in 1995. He’s played in numerous Champion Tour events including the 2005 PGA Senior Championship at Laurel Valley, PA. He has produced many good players at the club and in and around the local area.
Mitchell is one of the few 50 PGA Professionals who is certified in golf instruction. Besides being a contributing editor to GT, Steve has appeared on the Golf Channel’s Academy Live program and has been the Swing Coach for the College of Charleston. Mitchell has run the golf schools at Kiawah Island Golf Resort for the past 10 years.
