Tee To Green with Erica Blasberg

One of the LPGA’s best ballstrikers helps you play like a pro

This Article Features Photo Zoom
I’ve been on the LPGA Tour for more than four years now, and each week, I play in a pro-am. I’ve played with all kinds of players, from “sticks” to weekend warriors. I don’t always have the chance to pass on tips to them during our round, but over the next few pages, I will.

FAST FACT! Erica Blasberg has hit 76% of her fairways this year and averages 249 yards off the tee.
I have key swing tips for every part of your game, from driving to putting to what to think while you’re standing over your ball. I’ll also let you in on a few “secrets” about the equipment I use and why you should mix up your set. I hope it will help you knock a few strokes off your next round.

LOCK IN ON YOUR TARGET

When I play in programs, I notice that most of my amateur playing partners don’t stand behind their ball and line up their drives, or even consider which direction the tee box is pointing. As a result, their aim and alignment is usually off. From there, they have to make a lot of swing compensations to hit the fairway.

I stand behind the ball, pick a very specific target and aim my body and clubface accordingly. So many errant shots can be straightened out by doing this simple preshot routine.
