One of the great things about the game of golf is that, on occasion, all of us, even the highest handicapper, will hit a shot like a pro. It might be a well-struck drive, hitting a par-5 in two or holing out a bunker shot.
Stickney has published more than 100 national instruction articles and is a keynote speaker for various PGA Sections on Learning and Teaching Golf. He is an instructor for golfers on the PGA, LPGA, Senior, Buy.com and Hooter’s Tour. Tom has given more than 20,000 individual golf lessons and continues to teach at numerous different schools and clinics.
Mitchell is one of the few 50 PGA Professionals who is certified in golf instruction. Besides being a contributing editor to GT, Steve has appeared on the Golf Channel’s Academy Live program and has been the Swing Coach for the College of Charleston. Mitchell has run the golf schools at Kiawah Island Golf Resort for the past 10 years.
A native Californian raised in Paso Robles, attended San Jose State University on a golf scholarship, turned professional in 1977 becoming a PGA professional while working in the public sector. He became part of the team at The Newport Beach CC in 1989 and was named Head Professional in 1995. He’s played in numerous Champion Tour events including the 2005 PGA Senior Championship at Laurel Valley, PA. He has produced many good players at the club and in and around the local area.
